Divers Down Swanage Dorset. Est.1958, 61years of diver training
on the South Coast.
We are the only dive school based on the pier and the UK's
longest established dive school.
Swanage diving school has been on Swanage
Pier since 1958.
Apart from being the longest established dive school in England,
it is also one of the south coasts best loved dive
and is generally accepted as being one of the
best shore dives in the UK.
With the sea quite literally 5 metres from our door, where better
to either learn to dive or continue your diving education? Mike
Potts Diving at Divers Down Swanage regularly run diving
courses at every level, from 'try dives'
under the pier to technical
diving courses further offshore.
Mike Potts Diving at Divers Down Swanage are not only proud of
continuing this fine tradition but we are also proud of the pier
itself. Thanks to the ongoing restoration of this Victorian Listed
Building, the pier provides a protected marine environment where
generations of divers have experienced the underwater world for
the first time.
We try to provide more of a 'personal
service' type of diver training, with small class sizes. Hopefully
this will make you feel you are paying for your training and not
your certification. In this way your certification is earned and
We hope to see you in the water very soon.
AP Vision and VMS Redbare/Sentinel
Very much like last season, we are hoping to be open for business
when ever we are allowed to be. Unfortunately the COVID situation
last year meant we could only offer a limited range of courses.
On the whole, the more advanced the training, the easier it was
to conduct the course safely. There were notable exceptions to
this, the Rescue course being one of them. Our boat diving options
were very much curtailed last season and I fear this will continue
into 2021 due to the limited spaces available on the boats. As
dive boats are having to operate with reduced numbers this has
increased the costs of boat dives. Consequently, courses which
include boat dives have had to be more expensive to make running
courses viable. We reserve the right to make these adjustments
If there are any courses you are interested in, I would suggest
you contact us in the usual ways and we will do our very best
to do what we can to help.
In the meantime, please stay safe and we hope to see you diving
with us just as soon as is safely possible.
